Intermission

I’ve been sick with possibly strep throat, bronchitis, ear infections, or all three since Wednesday or Thursday.  I have no voice and no desire to do much more than lay on the couch and sleep for 4 or 5 hours at a time before the painful coughing and hacking awakes me.
It may be time for [...]

My confession about music…

I’m not a music person.
I could go years without music at all, but I won’t complain if there’s music going that speaks to me. I typically don’t go for the “pop” or popular music of the day. But sometimes I do. I have an interest in almost every genre which has been [...]

Best Dinner Snack

Tonight I made mashed butternut squash and it was delish.  I had some frozen cubes of butternut squash stashed in the freezer I thought I’d try.
I first boiled them in a 1/4 cup of water till soft, then strained and tossed back into the pan on high heat to dry them out a bit before [...]

Good Friday

I hired a key person for a key position today.  It was an 8 month search for this individual who accidentally crossed paths with me when I wasn’t looking.  There should be much rejoining at this, but I am exhausted instead.

So there’s a blog I read…

When my mom was diagnosed with cancer in May 2006, I started reading blogs because that’s just what I did and still do when I want to learn or feel a personal experience.
Want to learn about knitting? Read a blog. Want to explore photography techniques? Read a blog. Addicted to sex? [...]

What not to say in an interview…

“I’m leaving my company because they only promote women.”
**note** saying this to a woman recruiter probably not very smart

Success

I used to never want children or be married. Now, it’s all I want.
I made 4 hires today. 3 of them are very tough with long recruiting lifecycles. This is good stuff and brings me tremendous success and attention at work.
That’s all.

2008 GOALS

I know everybody does resolutions or goals or something each year, but I typically don’t. I’ve always been grateful just to make it through another year of life’s agonies.
However, 2008 will be the year of change, growth, and happiness for me. Here they are in no particular order for me [...]
